Should my Canon Xti digital SLR be safe in this case?
Posted on Apr 01, 2008 under Digital news and reports |I'm going to Japan and have a limited amount of space, so I'm trying to not bring my huge camera case that carries anything you could imagine. I went and bought a holster case, which is very well made and feels very sturdy. It holds what I need, but I must keep the lens attached in the case. I'll have a backpack to keep extra accessories, so this seems to work well, I'm just wondering if my camera should be safe enough. Everything fits snugly in the case and I'll be bringing it on the plane with me. Should I be fine. Anyone travel with only this type of case:

This bag should be sufficient since only you will be handling it. Keep in mind, the simpler the better, since you will probably be asked to open the bag and possibly the back pack for a hand inspection. Try to avoid at all costs checking any baggage with photo gear under the plane. They just don't have the time or the will to handle everything cautiously.
