hdmi or digital rgb to analog rf?

Posted on May 26, 2008 under Digital news and reports |

I am looking for a converter box in which I can have either a digital rgb input or hdmi input to an analog rf output. I have Att u-verse service and i want to be able to watch hdtv in my bed room but also feed out standard rf signal to another tv in my house. Does such a product exist and at a reasonable cost?

You need a HDMI distribution system. You can do this with HDMI to CAT5 or HDMI format.

A 1X4 HDMI distribution amp goes for about $150

Yes, so long as the Uverse box is "multisession", which means it outputs analog audio/video while also outputting HDMI. Most TV boxes from sat and cable companies are. You may have to check with AT&T to be sure.

You just need an old VCR with a tuner. Yellow/red/white RCA connectors out of the Uverse, into the VCR, then RF (coax) out of the VCR to the old TV. Cheap and easy.
