How do you take your home movies from a dvd-r digital recorder and import them into a movie making software?

Posted on May 27, 2008 under Digital news and reports |

I try to import my movies into Sony Vegas but they will not import. The Audio and Video files wont drag into the slots. What do I have to do to make it possible to make movies with my home videos????

I can't say about Sony Vegas. But for DVD-R, the first thing you need to make sure is that the disc has been 'Finalized' or Closed so that it will play on other DVD players. That's a function found in your DVD recorder, usually under Disc Management.

Then check your software's manual to see if it can import VOB files or if they need to be converted to another format, first.
