Digital antenna tv in 2009..?
Posted on May 28, 2008 under Digital news and reports |ive heard alot about digital antenna tv in 2009 and that you need a converter…
does this mean that those little hand held tv's that some people use wont function anymore?
and what about mini black and white tvs that people use outdoors…
or battery powered televisions…
i just thought about this and it really struck me as odd that every tv is going to have to be hooked up to a box or it wont work..

You are correct. Any television that is using a indoor or outdoor antenna and is not subscribe to cable or satellite services will require a converter box in order to receive digital channels.
This means your handheld and black and white televisions will no longer work if you do not purchase a converter box.
Any television that is connected to cable television or satellite television will still work and there is no need to purchase a converter box.
You can get two twenty dollar debit cards from the government to purchase two converter boxes.

well u are correct they will not work after feb 17 2009 u can get two coupons from the goverment and get two converter boxes try the DTVPAL fromdish network is only $39.99 that means is free its available on june 16th 2008
