Digital Art Tablets, which one should I get??

Posted on May 28, 2008 under Digital news and reports |

Okay so here's the situation…

I'm a graphic artist/digital guy, I've been doing my thing for a while, and I just now came across the options for a tablet…

I have been to the WACOM.com website, I've looked at bamboo, intuos, all of those…my question is:

WHAT is the best tablet for a serious digital artist/digital painter? What tablet will give me the most artistic feel?

What tablet is all around the best choice for someone who creates images/graphics from scratch and uses very minute details?

I'm not the type who needs a tablet to sign my email signature, or write things up, I need something really sensitive and perfect for a real artsy type.

Suggestions please? Should I get the Bamboo? the Graphire? I want a smaller size, because I have no need for a big giant screen.

ahh and last but not least…my price range is up to 200-250 dollars tops…I got a budget here!

Thanks

I personally prefer the Graphire's touch sensitivity. I have the 8×10 size and I love it, though I always wanted the option of having the 4×6, which allows for much more gestural brushstrokes. For illustrators, the tony ones are definitely the best. I like mine because I use it for photoediting as well as drawing, so it give me the feel of a mouse too. my boyfriend has the bigger one, and I don't much like using it. I would also recommend doing google searches and reading reviews of other people's experiences!
