Digital Optical Audio Cables Help!!!?
Posted on Jun 26, 2008 under Digital news and reports |I need to buy several of these cables to hook up my XBOX 360 and my PS3 to my surround sound system. I noticed the prices on these cables range from like $1 to $150. I was just wondering if there is a noticeable difference in the quality of these cables. Also, I'm on a budget so how much would you suggest to spend on these cables.

Only a fool would spend $150 on a toslink optical cable.
An average price for a 6ft cable would be around $5-10. Spend more if you want but you won't hear any difference.

The signal is DIGITAL…it is NOT affected by cable quality…
So get the cheap ones….well reasonably cheap, not ULTRA cheap like 20 cents per cable…you do get what you pay for….

It sound quality is best so for quality you can spend money.

its digital fiber optic, so as long as your reciever can interpret the signal you will get the same sound quality no matter what you pay for the cable, so get the cheap ones, expensive audio cables giving you better sound quality is a lie, as long as you have a cable with decent connectors you will get the same sound quality
