Want to buy a new digital camera, suggestions please?
Posted on Aug 03, 2008 under Digital news and reports |I am going on vacation this week and I would like to buy a new digital camera, but I'm not sure which would be best for me.
We will be near a beach, which we will be frequenting a lot , so I want it to take good outside pictures (also in the sun/beach).
I want something that takes good video, WITH sound. I want something slim, not big and bulky. Something that does have a long shutter lag
I was maybe thinking about Kodak EasyShare C713 Zoom Digital Camera 7.0 MP / 3X Zoom
What do you think about that camera?

That's a great camera and would probably be my choice if I was buying a point & shoot.

I think Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom.
OR
Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom.
Both are very slim.
Canon is a brand that i always trust.

Kodak doesn't take great pictures compared with some of the other brands out there. I would look at Canon, Nikon or Sony.
By the way, sand is terrible for a camera! So if you are going to the beach, make sure to keep your camera in a case or get a weatherproof camera like the Olympus Stylus 850SW. If sand gets into the zoom lens, it's bye bye camera and warranties won't cover it!
