At such low megapixel numbers, I think noise shouldn’t be too much of an issue, so I’d say the 5 megapixel gives you better image quality. Keep in mind though, that higher megapixels doesn’t always mean better image quality though. More pixels on a small sensor often lead to picture noise. Picture noise is like film grain, it can ruin an otherwise pretty and awesome shot. In the end, 8 megapixels should be the upper limit- anything over would be overkill unless the camera features a larger-than-average imaging chip (sensor).
