who makes the best digital camera?

canon are meant to be the bes cameras however i have a sony cybershot and it is brilliant!!!!

I’m not sure what particular model, but Canon seems to be pretty good. (I know a few people who have them) They have good zoom, stabilizers, and some really cool features that I don’t really have names for.
Your local camera store is sure to be able to help you out, if all else fails.

Nikon makes excellent cameras and there are a number of models to choose from to suit your specific needs.

In my opinion Canon and Nikon make the best cameras. Keep in mind that you will need more than a good camera to take good pictures. Some of these factors are:
- Camera body
- lens
- External flash and flash techniques
- lighting
- skill (the most important factor)
If recommend Canon 40D if you have the budget (apx. $1000). If you have limited budget, I highly recommend Canon XTi(400D). It offers the same pro features that you would find in high end Canon/Nikon cameras. Most photographers will tell you that lenses are more important than Cameras. You can buy a Canon XTi with a kit lens for around $550 and spend rest of your money on extra lens, external flash, tripod, photography books, lessons and etc.
Built in flash and kit lenses do not produce good results.
