How do I keep my Western Digital MyBook Essential 500GB External drive from spinning down constantly? WD’s website says this feature is built in and can’t be changed, but there’s got to be a third party utility that will fix this. It is causing a huge lag whenever I want to save/access anything since I use the entire WD drive AS my My Documents folder. Any ideas?

Am I able to connect my Digital Stream converter to my DVD Player and have it play?

I have the DTX9950 model. My DVD Player “color” cords (red, white, yellow) are connected to the back of the converter, and the converter is connected to the TV. My digital channels are working fine, but the DVD player isn’t. When I toggle the converter from on to off I get a two-second flash of the DVD I am trying to watch, but then it automatically changes to analog ’snow.’ Is there something wrong with my converter? Do I need to input my TV somehow? To purchase other hardware? Has this happened to anyone else? I know I’m askig a lot, but I would really appreciate an answer! Thank you in advance!
*Thanks Destiny, by all of that techy talk do you mean that maybe I could use one of those RF things? Modulator, I think. My TV was probably made in the mid-90's if that helps anyone.
