There is no digital back for the nikon film cameras so no you cannot do this.
Nor do you have to spend a fortune you can get a d40 or d60 and use all of your accessories form your 8008 for a really good price ( 500 to 700 US) Shoot you can get a D700 for only 3K
Don't get hung up on the megapixel myth. Megapixels are only part of what makes a good image and not as important as marketing would make you think. Unless you need to make very very large prints you will never miss a few megapixels

While it will be much less hassle and most likely cheaper (based on simple supply) to get one of the current Nikon DSLRs, to answer your question… yes you can.
Kodak made a digital back that will work. Look up Kodak DCS 200ci. However, good luck finding one in working order and at a price that would be worth your while over getting a DSLR. You could get something basic like a D40/D40x/D60 or something a little more advanced like the D70/D80/D90. The D300 or D700 are nice and much less than $10,000. For a little over $10,000 you can get 2 Nikon D3 cameras shipped to you. All those cameras will work with the lenses you use on you 8008s.
In case you're curious to how big a beast this camera becomes, check out the picture about half way through.
