I have narrowed down my choices to a couple of cameras but they’re different versions. Here are my choices:

Canon-Powershot 8.0 MP Digital ELPH Camera- Blue/Brown/Silver/Gold/Pink (SD1100IS)
Kodak- EasyShare 10.2 MP Digital Camera - Pink (V1003)
Sony Cybershot 8.1 MP Digital Camera - Black (DSC-T70/B)

I need a good digital camera?

I want to get a digital camera that takes the picture as soon as you hit the button, the one I have now takes way too long. I also would like it to be fast between pictures, and take more than 1 picture per second. I would like it to have video also. I don’t mind spending a lot, if it has everything I need. I just don’t know what camera to get. Anyone know any?

1st year University course in digital photography?

Hi there,
I am taking a 1st year colour digital photography course and I need to buy a camera. The requirement on the course outline says i need a Digital camera with a minimum 4 megapixel, capture in RAW file format capability, and have manual control capability. Please recommend me a camera that can do all that, my price range is 100- 300 (the lower the better! )

the course outline does not specify SLR, which means i think any digital camera is good but it needs to have those features. please recommend me a camera. THNAKS AGAIN

Beginner digital slr?? Best answer gets ten pointsss….HELPP?

ok well I am a beginner to photographer and want to get a digital slr. My budget is about 400 maybe a little more. But i want a camera that can go automatic so i can learn how to use it ex: I set aperture, it sets shutter speed and so on and then one that will also let me take pictures manually when i get a feel for the camera. So I need suggestions and if someone has a good SLR that is easy to use and takes good picturess what is it??

Also what is a better brand Nikon, canon, or kodak for my camera preference??

does a HDMI cable support a non digital and no HD video signal?

I have my new LCD (sony) being shipped in today. My current setup includes cable out the wall (no cable box) into my HD tivo and from there into my tube TV.

My cablecards for the tivo don’t come in till late next week. and likewise, my digital and HD signaled cable doesn’t start till that time

my question is that till the whole digital and HD setup kicks in, would it be possible to still hook up my tivo to the new lcd via a HDMI cable? Tivo HD does have a HDMI out.

in other words, even with a normal cable signal from the wall into the tivo, would that signal be carried out from the tivo to the LCD via an HDMI cable? I understand that since the signal coming in is non digital/HD there will be no up conversion.

does HDMI carry a regular video signal that’s not digital?

Digital Camera and Lens Questions?

I am looking to do some more close up photos. I am a beginner with photography and have a Nikon D40. I have the lens that came with it, the 18-55 mm with a f4.5 to f22…. I’m finding that a lot of the photographs that I am seeing of things like … oh, say a babys foot (where the foot is crisp and the background is hazy… i think thats depth of field, please forgive my ignorance) require a lower f number. Is this the reason I am having trouble making the backgrounds of objects close to me blurred? If so, what is a great lens at an affordable price that will produce the kind of results I am looking for? Thanks!
