How do you fix a Casio Exilim digital camera lens?

Posted on Sep 25, 2008 under Digital news and reports | 28 Comments

I took a little day trip and I brought my camera with me, and I conveniently dropped it on the concrete. The lens made a head on impact with the ground and it got jammed. Now, whenever I turn on my camera to take pictures, it says “LENS ERROR”. I’ve already tried pulling out the jammed part, but that hasn’t worked.. And I don’t think I’ll be able to send it to a shop for repairs anytime soon.. Does anyone know how to fix the lens???
Here are some pictures of the camera and the current position of the jammed lens, just to give an idea of what model the camera is, and how the lens is crooked:

Have you tested with an EPT digital?

Posted on Sep 25, 2008 under Digital news and reports | 26 Comments

A few months back I had (what I thought to be) the flu. There was a small chance of pregnancy, so I took a digital EPT test and it said “pregnant” mid-pee! So I went to my doctor and had another urine test done and it came up negative… just to be on the safe side she ordered a blood test. It also came out negative. I would have been eight weeks at that time, providing I was actually pregnant. I went home and took some 2 clearblue digitals, both negative. When I started realizing that there could have been a mistake, I took a Dollar Tree test when I would have been about 11 weeks. I don’t think it was positive because there was no color in the line.

I’ve read a lot about questions from women who have used the digital EPT test and had positives and then tested negative on everything else. Basically I want to know the outcome of it. Were they actually positives, or has anyone had a false reading from this particular brand?

Share digital cable on another TV?

Posted on Sep 25, 2008 under Digital news and reports | 30 Comments

Ok, I already asked the question about being able to hook up my digital cable from on TV to another without an additional box, and basically I can but I have to watch what the original TV is watching. Sooo with that said, what if i had the remote for the basement TV up in my room, could i control it from my room? How can i make the remote reach the basement TV?

Best thin digital camera?

Posted on Sep 25, 2008 under Digital news and reports | 22 Comments

I’m looking for a new digital camera. I like small thin ones that will fit into my purse well :). I’d like one with higher than a 3x zoom and more than 6 megapixels, but not too expensive if possible. Also, I’d like it to carry an SD card and have an easy battery system. The camera I have now has lithium batteries that stay charged for only a few hours :/. Help!

Question about importing videos to the computer from a digital camera?

Posted on Sep 25, 2008 under Digital news and reports | 19 Comments

I have an Optio w30 and when I hook it up to my computer Windows photo gallery displays all my photos and a few videos but most of my videos are missing from there. I went back to my camera and looked and those videos were not deleted.

So I went to Windows Movie Maker and tried to import the videos from there and it said “Import Video could not find a compatible digital video device. Verify that the digital video device its properly connected and turned on.”

It is. So I went to help, and read this part:

“My computer doesn’t find my DV camera when I plug the camera in. Why not?

This can occur for the following reasons:

The DV camera is not powered on.

The DV camera went into standby mode. Some DV cameras will go into standby mode if the DV camera is in the record (Camera) mode with a tape in it and no video or audio is being sent to or from the camera.

To fix the problem, do one or more of the following, and then try again:

Verify that the DV device is connected properly to your computer with an IEEE 1394 connection or a USB 2.0 connection.

Verify that the DV camera is powered on and in VCR (playback) mode.

Switch off the DV camera and then switch it on again in VCR (playback) mode.”

I checked all of those, but what is playback mode? It has a 2.0 USB connection and everything. Is it because my camera is a picture camera that can also take videos as opposed to a DV camera specifically for videos?

PLEASE HELP! Many many many many many MANY thanks in advance for help.

Other than wholesale lists and ebooks, are there any other digital items i can sell on ebay?

Digital Magnavox 27″ TV DVD VCR combo model CT270MW8, how can we get signal for free?

Posted on Sep 25, 2008 under Digital news and reports | 16 Comments

My dad bought that Magnavox TV model CT270MW8 because he wanted to get digital programming. He is very firm on the fact that he does not want cable or dish. Can someone recommend an antenna or service that supplies this? We are all quite confused about this and wondering how we can get programming without the mentioned paid services. I don’t think he is trying to avoid paying for programming I think it is more like he is trying to avoid the commitment so how can we do this? He was told that there is a special antenna that he can get to do that. Any information will be appreciated. Reference links are a plus!
Will that work when the switch-over happens in February?
Nevermind, I found out it will, thanks!
