Shopping for a digital camera?
Posted on Oct 01, 2008 under Digital news and reports |My birthday is coming up, and I decided that I want a digital camera. It’s so hard to choose one though, I’ve been looking everywhere but I just don’t know what to choose.
Anywho, what are some good quality cameras for less than $180? Are there any brands that I should avoid? Any helpful tips to help me narrow down the choices are more than welcome. Thanks!

The Canon PowerShot A590 IS. It's about $130-at Tri State Camera, 8 megapixels, 4X optical zoom. Has image stabilizer and manual controls in addition to auto. Good value.
Fully auto and a bit less dollar wise I imagine, is the Canon PowerShot A560.
If you're looking for a tiny camera you might consider the Samsung L210. 3X optical zoom, 10 megapixels. Beach Camera has it for $139-+shipping. It's a fully automatic camera.

I would recommend Canon SD1100 IS.
- 8 megapixels
- image stabilization
- 3x zoom
- 2.5″ LCD
- 4 colors to choose from
- around $175.
