I really like my Sony CyberShot. It’s the touchscreen, so it was friggen pricey, but now that they have the new “cool pix” camera that is similar, maybe they’ll drop the price.

Nikon Coolpix. Takes great pictures. The newest model looks fun and wonderful.

There is no perfect one camera for any job. If your looking for ease of use, try the one share. If you want quality the thing you need to look for is optical zoom. The higher the better. As optical goes up so does price.

Personally i think Canon is the best. And they are decent priced.

Depends on what you want to do - carry a really slim camera all the time, have a really flexible camera to take frame filling pictures from a distance away (more telephoto), take pictures really quickly (fast response), have manual control (unlikely at this price) or more or less fully automatic (more likely), take pictures in dim light (sensitivity).
The answers to these will get you closer to the camera you want.

The top of the line cameras like SLR are the best. But over priced so if you don’t want to pay in the thousands OLYMPUS or KODAK(but you don’t like Kodak) are very good camera brands as well. So,OLYMPUS Stylus 740 $250-349 at yahoo shopping. But if your not a online shopper Canon Powershot SD1100 IS with 8 mega pixels was $199 but is on sale at Circuit City. And wal-mart or best buy may have them a cheaper price then most places.
You can check by going to circuit city, walmart or best buy main websites and look at the prices before you buy to make sure you made the right choice.

I’ve had Canon Powershot A460 for some time. And it works quite well, despite its relatively cheap price. I’ve even dropped this camera on the cement floor by accident. And it wasn’t damaged at all, not even a scratch.

You don't say what you want in a camera. Do you want tiny or regular size, one with image stabilizer or doesn't matter? Do you want a camera where you control shutter speed/aperture or just leave on auto? Do you want a 3X or 4X optical zoom, or 10X, 12X optical zoom?
If you gave the above info, then people can really narrow it down to what you may want.
