You Dont get extra channels, you dont get ANY channels if you dont have it though. It is only for TV’s from a LLLOOONNNGG time ago though. The ones made in the past 15-20 (i think ) years will work.
You get basically the same channels you get now. I got a converter box recently for my TV and I didn’t lose any channels. I gained a few weather channels though! My CBS station was channel 11 on analog. Now with digital, I get channel 11-1, which is the original channel, and 11-2, which has news and weather on it 24/7. I also get weather stations for my ABC and NBC channels. Really the only benefit I see in digital is that the picture isn’t snowy anymore, its just plain clear, and you can push an info button on the remote to see what is on. Oh… by the way… even a relatively new tv may need a converter box. I got my TV in 2002 and it didn’t have a digital tuner. Well best of luck!

you get like 3 or 4 new channels. but it also depends on where u live because the channels are different.
