I want to buy a compact camera but there are so many choices. I want something that has MORE than 3 times optical zoom and has excellent picture quality. I want something that is small and not too big. Just a regular point and shoot camera. Something in the price range of around 200-300 dollars. Any recommendations?

I have emailed Kodak already — twice and it’s too late to call them so I thought someone could help out here. I have a Kodak Easy Share Camera Model C613, It has the rechargeable batteries in it that are supposed to charge when placed on this camera dock that I also got from Kodak. The green light is supposed to come on when it charges, well it doesn’t. The camera turns on while on the dock and am able to take pictures from the dock but once I remove the camera from the dock , the camera shuts off. Also keep in mind that I have not used this camera in about 3-4 months because I just got a new computer and didn’t have one for that period of time . Could the rechargeable batteries be shot b/c I have not used them? Or is it the dock itself? And why does the camera turn on and allow me to take pictures when on the dock but once I take it off the camera shuts off - this is so frustrating lol 
please help!
PS: Yes everything is plugged in - USB and outlet….
Its cracked on the inside and it a sanyo. It cost about $140. Someone told me it would cost as much as the camera just to fix it. Is that true?
I know less than nothing, about digital cameras. Where can I go to learn? or is it easier than I think it is?
I bought 2 cameras, one cheap 2.1 Megapixel DG “for Dummies” (I don’t even see a maker’s name, but it looks easy to operate (maybe).
I also bought a FinePix 4800 Zoom Fuji camera that looks very professional but I doubt I can even make it through the owner’s manual. It’s the kind that sits in a power dock and has tons of settings.
Help! Where do I start?

i have 6 channel digital input on my receiver if i use y cables(rca) to hook these up( alot of work ) where will I hook up the center and sub these are rca jacks are black for sub and black for center the front and rear are white and red thats simple. The headphones all have 3.5 mm plugs I am adapting all of them into rca.
so the diagram would be like this
front- red and white rca
rear- red and white rca
center- single black rca
sub- single black rca
Is there a mono black rca plug used for this type of application?
