Should I buy a CANON 450d digital SLR camera NOW or after Xmas?

I am thinking about buying a CANON 450d digital SLR camera with the standard 18-35mm Lens. I need to know a few things:

1. Should I buy it NOW (£438 lowest price I’ve found in UK) OR wait till after Xmas (Sales)?
2. Would any Sale Price be likely to be significantly lower £100? or just £20-30? Maybe somone has experience of purchasing in yearly sales.
3. Will the Canon 450d be likely to be superseeded in next few months with a more powerful similar camera? Thus should I wait for a new model? Any news on the grapelines about new Canon models (especially maybe cameras with more than 12.2 Megapixels in the £500-700 range?

I am a Graphic Designer and need to purchase the best camera I can in the £500-700 range that will give me the Highest Image Resolutions for High Quality PRINTED images for Brochures/Posters.

I cant afford a Medium Format Professional Camera (20 Megapixels+) and just wonder if any new Canon/Other models are due out soon?

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi/400D?

I’m thinking of purchasing a Canon Rebel XTi.
I’m very familiar with Canon, and my friend has an XTi.
I’ve used it once. It’s her baby; no one’s allowed to touch.
It’s an amazing camera, and it’s everything that I want.
But, I want pros/cons, so I know what I’m doing.

Digital Recipe Reader vs ipod Touch?

I just found this nifty device online - a digital recipe reader - for $300. I live by my ipod touch and am wondering if I should spend my money on the new device or wait and see if ipod is going to add some sort of recipe function to their device and/or if I could upload the recipe files currently as an app file or something similar? I really don’t want to spend $300 on a separate device if I don’t have to.

Which 32″ LCD TV is best for watching Standard Def Time Warner Digital Cable?

I have Time Warner Cable. It is Digital but I do not have an HD box and I’m not getting one either. I have been reviewing the Sony KDL M4000 and the Samsung 450. Thing is that I’m not sure if these Tv’s handle standard def viewing well because the show rooms have them set to an HD channel feed. Anyone know about this?

What non-Digital SLR has the shortest shutter lag time when the flash is off?

I have an older HP digital camera, and am looking to upgrade it. I just want a point and shoot, nothing particularly fancy. My biggest issue with my current camera is that it takes sooooooo long to take a picture when I turn the flash off, that the picture ends up distorted! From what I have read on here, it has to do with shutter lag, but I am not sure. I don’t know much about photography.

The other features I am looking for are:
-uses SD card memory
-rechargeable battery
-image stabilization
-slim design

I do not want an SLR, so please don’t suggest it, I know they are are more capable, but they are not what I am looking for. I just want a camera to carry in my purse for spontaneous photo opportunities!
