Computer that doesn't have a DVD reader and digital copies?

I bought a movie yesterday with a digitial copy but i'm almost positive my computer doesn't work with DVD's. As in you can't watch dvds on them. But do you think I can still put a DVD on my iPod? If not is there something I can download (software) that will make my computer read DVDs.
BTW, I have a really slow computer and I did the math. It would take 39.2 hours do download a movie off of iTunes. So that's really not an options.

the only way you will be able to read DVDs is with a dvd drive which cost like 39.99 at best buy or some place like that. if they ask if you need help tell them you need a dvd drive and that it does not have to be a writer.

iPod recognizes MP4 format, so you just need a converter that will go from DVD to MP4, and then drag the MP4 files to your iPod with the sync of iTunes Library. Below is the step by step tutorial showing how to put DVD movies, video files and online YouTube video to Apple iPod Nano:

You should make sure the video is MP4 or H2.64 video for iPod.
