Digital Photos appear dark on CRT & bright on Laptop?

Posted on Dec 29, 2008 under Digital news and reports |

Can anyone tell me how i could solve the problem with my digital photos. I did the editing on the laptop & the brightness was good. Then i checked them on the CRT desktop screen & they were quite dark. How could i solve the problem & what is the standard brightness that the photos need to be.

Your laptop does not give a good representation of the photo. The CRT is much closer but either one should be color calibrated before you start working with the photos.

If you want your photos to be correct in both color and brightness, take them to a good photo lab and have them do the work or get a color calibrator ($200 in hardware/ software) for your monitor.

  2. Well, what you need to do is calibrate your monitors. LCD have a brighter luminance than CRT's - so it depends on what you're editing your pics on.

    I use a EyesOneDisplay2

To calibrate my LCD monitor. That way I know that the photos that I export look the same printed as they do on my monitor.
