The digital transition has been moved to june 12th 2009. This decision was made because the government did not have enough converter box coupons. If you do not have cable or satellite you need a converter box so when the transition does occur you do not lose your signal. Converter Boxes can be purchased at home electronic stores
The digital channels are there NOW. June 12, we turn off all the analog channels leaving only the digital ones on the air. You could be watching digital right this minute!
The signals have been in the air since about 2002. Only about a third of the analog signals have been turned off so far, the rest are due on June 12.
They have been HERE since 2006 when the entire nation was fully digital…They have shut off MOST TV stations on Feb 17, rather than the June 12 date that they extended it to. But there's a few cheap stations that still run the analog..
