Why is my digital television signal so "choppy"?

I live in the SF Bay so I have tons of local programming however I just bought a digital converter for my over the air signals and all my shows are choppy. I keep moving the antenna around and it helps some but I cannot find a way to get a steady signal.

Do I need to get an amplifier antenna or something of the sort? I'm trying to watch TV now and it's almost impossible. Any advice is appreciated.
no, you see, I get my signal over the air, but I just bought a digital converter that I am using. I just need a better signal!

my new digital camera runs out of battery life wwaay too fast..?

When the government mandated the end of analog television and forced us to buy digital converter boxes, my red flag of government lies raised in my head. I first thought of the book 1984 and how the government used televsion to spy on its citizens. Well, it has happened. The government will now be able to see in our living rooms, bed rooms, and listen to everything we say.

Ask yourself why the government would mandate a "switch" in technology like that….shouldn't the FREE MARKET decide?? Why didnt the government say we all have to switch to digital radio (satellite radio)?? Well because, you are allowed to expose government lies on digital radio…the government cant regulate it.
