Can I take my videocamera and digital camera to the O2 arena?

Posted on Mar 30, 2009 under Digital news and reports |

I am going to watch Metallica live this Saturday at the O2 and I would really like to take some video of the group & a couple of photos, but I don't want security to find my camera & confiscate it! Anyone know if it's possible to take these w/ me?

  1. Of course you can take them with you. It's only a problem when you start using them! Some gigs you'll get away with it, others not on your life. I imagine the camcorder will be a bigger problem to security than the digital camera. But make no mistake, if they ask you to stop then you must, or else you are at serious risk of being ejected from the venue or having your gear confiscated. Or worse - you could be accused of piracy and (unlikely but possible) arrested.

For a show like Metallica it is very likely you will be patted down and bags will be looked into. A camera phone will be about the best you can do.
