  1. Digital media allow for much more accurate reproduction, without the distortion of other media, especially as a track is copied over and over. In the internet age, another big advantage of digital is that it's easy to compress without losing the integrity of the original recording. This allows much quicker downloads.

  2. Sound does not need to be converted to a digital form it can stay analogue and be recorded to Tape using electric currents that modify the magnetic structure on the tape or be cut into the grooves of a record etc…

    digital is just a more convenient and less expensive form in the 21st century!

  3. To be used by a computer, it must be converted into 1's and 0's.
