good digital camera for photos/video for under $300?
Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports |I need a camera that can take pretty good pics but can also take very good video that would look pretty good on YouTube and on my tv screen (not HD) for under $300….any good suggestions?

There are lots of cameras that do both of those things really good now. At my work you can get a 10 megapixel camera for as low as $100

I would suggest the Canon PowerShot SD750. It's 7.1 MP with lots of different ISO settings and tons of special effects like Sepia, Vivid, Neutral, Vivid Red, Vivid Blue, Vivid Green, Black & White, Custom Effect, and more. It can also shoot pretty good videos for an ultra compact camera. Here's some reviews I found on it.

Although, it seems like you want a digital camcorder more than a camera. Most camcorders can take pictures as well as video, might be something to look into.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5.
It has 10x wide angle optical zoom, 9.1 MP, records HD videos and you can zoom while recording.
I have this camera and it takes excellent pictures. I would highly recommend it. It also has great reviews on Amazon.
