How do I get digital camera USB driver from the CD ROM or get CD ROM to run?
Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports |I'm trying to get photos from an old Fuji Finepix camera ( 40i model).
If I put the CD rom it doesn't run automatically and I can't see how to download just the USB driver that I need.
I have tried 'add new hardware' on my computer but it tells me I'm missing a Windows file.
How can I get the CD rom to run and take me through the installation process,or just get the USB driver so I can open the memory card as F: drive like I used to?

Put the CD in an appropriate drive.
Use "My Computer" to open the drive and look at the files.
If there is a file called "autorun.inf" on the disk, right click and select "run".
If not, start looking for files that end with .exe or .com , something like "install.exe". Double click on each executable file, one at a time, and see what happens. One of them (there may only be one!) will start the install process.
