  1. that is a digital coaxial audio output. It has generally become outdated now, although it can still be found on many av receivers.

    If you mean stereo audio, you need a DAC. To use the DAC, you need to set the TV to PCM out. If you mean discreet 5.1 surround, you need a surround decoder.
