Backup of Digital Pictures when Traveling?
Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 4 CommentsI don't have a laptop to travel with. I would like to be able to economically backup my pictures when traveling from my Compact Flash 2GB memory card.
I could buy another card, but if a memory card fails or is damaged, I can lose all the pictures on it.
I would like to spend the minimum, say less than $75. Any suggestions?
All suggestions are excellent. I already have a card reader, so I could go with the CD backup easily. Not expecting to be able to visit those places, so a portable storage device seems the best answer.
Yesterday I asked a pro what he does, and he uses the portable drive option. He has an extra, and offered it to me. It is a Epson P-2000, 40GB with 3.8 in. LCD, like new, all accessories. I am testing it out now, and probably will get it from him at a good price. Thanks to all of you.
Thinking of getting Cannon rebel xs slr digital camera. Any comments?

Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 2 CommentsI'm trying to get photos from an old Fuji Finepix camera ( 40i model).
If I put the CD rom it doesn't run automatically and I can't see how to download just the USB driver that I need.
I have tried 'add new hardware' on my computer but it tells me I'm missing a Windows file.
How can I get the CD rom to run and take me through the installation process,or just get the USB driver so I can open the memory card as F: drive like I used to?
Thanks.
Can I take black and white photos with my digital camera?
Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 4 CommentsIs it possible to take a picture with a digital camera and change the backround to a picture?
Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 3 CommentsI wanted to take some pictures with my digital camera. I was curious if it was possible to change the back round of actual pictures you take. If it is possible, I wanted to know is there a certain computer program, camera, or whatever tool I can use to do so? Then when I go to print them out on my computer. I can create the illusion that they were taken wherever. In example at the beach or a lazer back round like in portraits. As you can probably already tell I am trying to save money by avoiding taking too many portraits. The way the economy is we all have to watch our pennies but I am one of those people who try to treasure each and every memory of our children. So if there is any way I can do that while holding on to some extra pennies and in the comfort of my own home. Im game. I know it's probably not possible but the wheels in my head were turning and I was curious. So I asked. Also, it seems like everywhere you turn technology is advancing left and right doing things that wow you. So that's also why I took a leap and asked. Thanks for your help.
I have a question for digital artists (and WACOM Bamboo Fun buyers)?
Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 1 CommentI'm starting to get into digital art. I've bought a WACOM Bamboo Fun, and got Corel Painter Essentials (which I've been using), Some kind of photoshop (which I can't use because cause I don't know the acess code), and something else I don't use.
So my questions are..
Are either of these programs good for beginner, and is there anything better that I can get for free, sinse I don't want to download something expensive, then a couple months later not use it.
How do I find the acess code to the photoshop program?
