after buying the digital tv converter box, i lose my basic channels with HD!!!?
Posted on May 30, 2009 under Digital news and reports |so my basic HD channels, such as abc, and nbc, are gone after installing my digital tv converter box. is it possible to get these channels back?! or do i have to watch it in crappy quality?

This makes no sense.
The digital converter can receive both analog and digital channels.
Did you connect an antenna to the box?
Is the antenna pointing to the stations?
Check your new digital channels. For example, instead of 7, you should get 7.1

If you are on cable, you don't buy a converter.
If your TV can tune digital cable directly, you don't need a converter box to get the channels that have gone away from analog.
If anything, you should get a cable box which has A/V out an connect that to your TV A/V in, and split the cable to the cable box and TV tuner.
If your source is antenna, and you could tune the HD broadcast channels in HD, you don't need a converter box, your TV has a digital tuner built in.
