can i retrieve pictures from my digital cam after i deleted it?

No hard drive.
Remember that little memory card you bought for it? That is where all the images are stored until you delete images or format the card.
There are commercial image recovery programs you can use if those photos are 1) not stored on you computer already or 2) are valuable enough to you to spend about $40 for the program and another $10 for a card reader if your computer does not have one built in.
Both Lexar and San Disc publish such programs if you want to "save" your images
