Why does Digital Channels keep on disappearing?
Posted on Jun 24, 2009 under Digital news and reports |I bought a new TV last week since every tv station is going digital and i notice some channels keep on disappearing. (I'm using the antenna) for intense, the channel 13 (ABC) disappearing during the NBA finals and I have to do a complete channel search for it to show up again and today, ABC disappeared again.

No one ever mentioned that by switching to digital signal that most tv stations sending signals over the air waves would stop and then switch to cable or disc network. This way cable and disc network would pay them and you in turn pay the cable and disc nework comapnies. Most area now have about 3 stations ABC, CBS and NBC. If you want more tv stations for your tv you'll have to get cable or a disc network provider.
It's one more ways for the big companies to get in your pocket for your cash.

The station is probably disappearing because you are receiving a weak signal. You did not say whether your antenna was an indoor or outdoor type. This will depend on how close you are to the TV station transmitting antennas. You should have the antenna pointed in the direction of the TV stations.
