Will a digital coaxial cable work as a subwoofer cable going from the subwoofer to the back of the a/v receiver? I'm trying to avoid buying another cable…

Assuming there is a RCA subwoofer output on the receiver and a low level RCA input on your sub … Yes … it's a good option. Subwoofer cables are probably the least demanding type of connections and a coax cable will work fine. If you need a longer cable you can also make an inexpensive subwoofer cable from standard coax and two "F to RCA connectors".

  2. Yes I use one for mine :-)

In fact any RCA type cable will work.
