Which lenses can I use for a Nikon D40 digital camera?
Posted on Jul 15, 2009 under Digital news and reports |Hi, I want to get a stronger lens for my camera. Can I buy any digital lens for it or are only nikon ones compatible?. If I can only use a limited number then is there a site that I could check compatibility? Thanks

Nikkor and Sigma are usually the brand of lenses with the correct mount, Nikkor being Nikon’s brand. If you want to continue using the Auto focusing feature then you will need to find Nikon lenses with a mount AF-S or AF-I which will be noted in its description. If you’re ok with manual focus then you can also use a regular F-mount lens. Any third party lenses should notate their compatibility (at least online) to help you with your decision.
