Digital test vs Line test?

Posted on Aug 07, 2009 under Digital news and reports |

I had asked this question earlier, but my digital tests said negative. Should I go get the "line" tests?

I’ve had "pregnancy symptoms" since last week Wednesday. This week I was supposed to start Monday, still no period and today is Friday.

Recently, I bled quite a bit from sex, but later it stopped. My cervix is unusually high, and I’ve been thinking I’ve been thinking I’m about to start, but I never did..Last period started June 30th. Had bleeding here and there, some due to sex, some not. Cramping, but not "oh I’m dieing" cramping. Nipples unusually tender and seemingly bigger. Backaches. Missed period. Some nausea. Frequent "peeing", and the oh so familiar, "I just don’t feel right" feeling. No birth control since May…
I live in a po-dunk town and don’t really have a doctor to go to.. suggestions?
wow guys! im extremely relieved at your answers! thanks :] thanks for the mini support! wish me luckk!!

  1. I would take a line test, i took the digital one and it was negative, so 2 days later i took the line one and it was positive.

Digital tests require more of the pregnancy hormone to register a positive so yes I would take a line test.

  3. Please consult your doctor as soon as possible. Bleeding during sex, cramping and pregnancy indications are a very bad combination. I have had three miscarriages; those are what I have while my body works its way up to the full miscarriage. Please consult your doctor.

Hi id say yes get a line test as you call it, as the clear blue digital test measures 50 mlu, and the line one is 25mlu so you can detect sooner, plus you can see a faint line if your early;-)

With the digital test there is nothing to observe ;-( i even ripped the dam thing open lol and they have 2 faint line inside which according to the Net this is normal.

When the digital gave me a neg i was actually pregnnat it was just to early for it to detect it.

if your in the UK use Tesco tests they always give me a good result early on with all 4 of my previous pregnancies

    Good luck x

  5. It would be worth it to try a line test. I used several First Response tests over the years and they were always accurate. I got a positive one 2 days after a missed period. If you get another negative, make an appointment to get a blood test. You can sometimes do this at a lab without a full on doctor’s visit (at least with the military). If you have a serious inclination that you are pregnant it is worth it to find out.

Line test all the way!! i like that with the line test there is always that possibility of seeing that pale pink line which is almost like a maybe but you know that its a positive, and with the digital test its just a yes or no, either it detected enough of the hormone or it didnt, and with the line test if it detects the slightest amount it will show it in the test…you have very reassuring symptoms, happy testing!!
