Do you mean the Kindle? I love it! It makes reading so much faster, and it’s fun to browse through the Kindle Store, looking for some new books.
Also, it’s a lot cheaper than "real" books. So far, I’ve saved over a hundred dollars, and I’ve only had the Kindle for a few months.
EDIT: I still read real books too, though. Paper books will NEVER be replaced, in my opinion. But the Kindle is fun to read at night, when I don’t want to have to use both hands, or any other place where it’s inconvenient.
While I do understand that the Kindle/digital books can sometimes be cheaper and/or more convenient, I personally do not enjoy reading books in a digital format. One simple reason is that I’m not good with technology, at all, and so reading books in a more technological manner is simply not my cup of tea. Besides that, I simply like having a traditional, old-fashioned book in my hand when reading. I guess I just like the feel of holding a ‘real’ book in my hand when reading; I can’t imagine reading a book any other way.
I loathe the kindle, I hate the fact that books are turning into cold, hard pieces of technology. I know this is going to sound weird but, I love how books smell and I love turning pages. I think devices like the kindle and the concept of digital books cheapen the value of the written word. Books are worth the paper they are printed on.
Kindle is low-traffic, that is its only problem for writers putting their material up in the Kindle Store. Your title is buried on page 736, so folks won’t find it unless they are looking for yuor exact title. They do offer free upload and only take a percentage; the reader reviews are well placed. There is a fantastic forum, however for publisher/reader questions.
Ebooks are really changing; EPUBS are the more asked for format, visible on Blackberrys and iPhone. EPUBS also allow integration with very slick app like Scroll Motion’s Iceberg app, which enables one to ‘turn’ a ‘page’, giving more of that real book feel. Folks still buy our e-books in PDF and read on their PCs and laptops, so it does not appear to be a fad, dwindling away… rather eBooks sales have been increasing 20-30 percent each years for the last three.
They are environmentally friendly (they waste no paper or gas) and can be stored in an iPod and sold through PayPal. Traditional publishing majority may be a thing of the past.
Digital books are great for when I can’t wait to read something, but I really prefer a good old-fashioned paperback. I love playing with the pages as I get deeper into the book. I love stopping and looking at the front cover. I love the smell of a book. I love the physical weight of it in my hand. I love seeing my progress as the unread portion gets smaller and the read portion gets bigger. I like being active in reading. My hands are doing something, so I don’t get lost in words. There is something special about flipping through a book…
Staring at a screen hurts my eyes after a while, anyway. >.<
I like the idea but until I can buy a book reader in a DRM free format I wouldn’t buy one.
I am also bothered by the sudden disappearance of 1984 and that I could happen to other books or the possibility my favorite books could have the word changed.
Author, Scott Sigler, believes that the reading devices on cell phones that people are already carrying will have more impact than the Kindle.
All of my online friends who have Kindle are happy with it and many more would buy it, if not for DRM and 1984 incident
ereaders are likely to replace textbook and magazine but unlikely to replace novels because many people will have an ebook of a novel to read and a signed copy of the dead tree book on living room book self.
We suppose for the present time i’ll settle for book-marking as well as incorporating your own Rss to my personal Yahoo account. We look ahead to new updates and will talk about this site with my Fb group….
I suppose in the meantime i’m going to be happy with book-marking and also adding your current Rss to be able to my own Yahoo and google account. My spouse and i enjoy new revisions and can talk about this site together with my own Facebook class….
Somebody necessarily lend a hand to make severely posts I would state. That is the very first time I frequented your web page and so far? I amazed with the analysis you made to create this particular submit extraordinary. Excellent activity!…

I am ok with it…
I still prefer "old fashioned" books tho :p Just cannot stand staring at a screen for hours.

I do not like them. When I read I want the actual book in my hand. It drives me crazy to try to read a book on a computer screen.
