LEGO Digital Designer Problem.?

Windows Vista homr premium, 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6400 @2.00GHz 2.00GHz
4GB RAM.
When I went to the Lego website and downloaded LDD, everything went fine until the last step. When it asked me if i wanted to run ldd after i clicked finish, i said yes. When i clicked Finish, It told me that I didn’t have enough RAM, and that i needed at least, if iremember correctly, 226 mb of RAM, and I have 4 GB. After that, LDD opens, but tells me it cant connect to the internet, i click retry, and its fine. When i got to the brick palette and click on a category, though, it shows where the bricks should be, but they are all 2×2 blue bricks with a hourglass, then I have to close it. Whats up?
I tried every compatability mode, but no luck. The pieces still dont appear.

I just installed in on my VIsta 64 machine. It also complained about the RAM on install, but this isn’t the first program I have installed that has complained. It didn’t complain about the internet.
I had a problem with some of the controls. I exited and checked the XP Service Pack 2 feature on the Comparability tab and opened it back up and all seems well so far.
