western digital external hard drive?
Posted on Aug 31, 2009 under Digital news and reports |i was wondering if when i reinstalled windows on my laptop with my external hard drive connected, if it would delete everything on the hard drive. i have deleted a partition numerous times to reinstall windows.

No it wont delete anything but it will mess up your drive letter assignments so leave it unplugged while installing and plug it in after.

No, your external hard drive will remain unaffected. It will only affect the hard drive to ask it to install Windows on. Just make sure you select the internal hard drive you want before you install and don’t make a mistake. Good luck.
