What’s a good digital slr for a 14 year old beginner?
Posted on Aug 13, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 18 CommentsMy daughter is turning 14 in a couple of weeks. She’s interested in photography but has no experience. I want to get her a digital slr camera that she’ll be able to use as a beginner, and grow with her as she learns.
What is a good digital camera?
Posted on Aug 13, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 18 CommentsI do not like the camera’s that have the lenses that come out from the camera and then pull back in, every time i have ever had one the motor would freeze it up and get the lens stuck where it wouldn’t go back in. I also need a camera that takes different kinds of SD cards and not just something specific to its brand name. oh yes and rechargeable battery would be great!

Posted on Aug 13, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 14 CommentsWD introduced their new portable 1 TB hard drive in July, but when I went to their website, it says out-of-stock. In amazon, I could only find their 750 gb my passport drive. Is any other retailers selling the 1 tb one?

2 positive clear blue digital pregnancy tests…notice expired later…is it possible?
Posted on Aug 13, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 22 CommentsI took a test Monday with first urine and got a positive reading. Took a second test Wednesday in the afternoon and got another positive reading. I noticed after that the tests were expired. Are they both accurate or not? Both screens showed the hourglass for a few seconds and then showed "pregnant" in a minute! Ultra quick results.

Gary, I am not trying to fake anything. I am simply asking if digital recorders pick up EVPS.
Question regarding HDMI Input into Sharp Aquos LCD TV and digital optical audio output to Onkyo HTS-5100 HTIB?
Posted on Aug 13, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 80 CommentsI have a Sharp Aquos LCD TV (Model LC52D85U) and an Onkyo HTS-5100 surround sound system. The receiver on the surround sound only has HDMI pass-through so it does not carry any audio to TV. Instead, I want to know if I can connect all my components directly to th TV with HDMI and then use the tv’s digital optical output to feed to the Onkyo receiver. My main question is, will the TVpass the digital audio information it receives from the components as is or will it filter the audio data into only what the TV itself can support and then pass only those formats through the optical out? I called Sharp and Best Buy and both have rocket scientists on the other end of the phone line that have no clue what I’m talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciate from some one experienced with the technology.
Thanks.
The receiver does not receive any audio through HDMI. It only passes through the video to TV. For example: If I have my playstation 3 hooked up directly to the receiver, I have to connect the HDMI for video and optical for audio otherwise I do not get any audio at all. This has been confirmed with Onkyo. The reason for my question is because the receiver only has two Optical inputs and I have more components to hook up that only have optical for digital input.
