Looking for a new digital camera and need suggestions please!?

Hello!

I’m in the market for a new digital camera and before I go out and just buy something off impulse I’m looking for some suggestions. Here are the specifications I’m looking for:

*Under $200 or around there - so please don’t recommend Nikon’s or anything else really expensive
*Something that will take good pictures in light AND dark. I know I have seen cameras do really well in low light, and others, not so much
*A zoom lens, or alternatively, a camera with a shorter zoom capability with the ability to crop or zoom in post-picture on the camera itself (with good quality).
*Movie Recording Capability (HD?)
*Something not too big, that will fit easily in a small purse when the zoom lens is closed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated it!

DiGiTAL CAMERA SUGGESTiONS?!?

i want a digital camera that:
1) is very clear, especially when taking pictures in the MIRROR
2) has a long battery life or it can be charged into the wall or computer

and that’s pretty much it.. is there a digital camera like that? price doesn’t matter, as long as its reasonable..

Is there a way to hook a digital cable to an A.V.R. and then have the AVR send it through to the TV via hdmi?

I want to hook my digital cable (Comcast) thru an Audio video receiver (hopefully hdmi)so that it can improve or at least not degrade the picture and send the sound throughout a large room. Since I am hard of hearing, good clarity and video/audio syncracy is important. I am looking to buy an AVR but I want to know if any have this capability. People in stores are minimum wage bodies who usually know less than I do. I already have a converter box on one tv and do not wish to pay $22 a month for another. Help!

How do you hook up an old vcr to a new digital tv?

Does my digital optical output from the tv pass along 5.1 surround from the HDMI components plugged into it?

Xbox360 HDMI out to LG50 tv. Optical output from TV to Sony receiver. Is the receiver getting the 5.1 surround sound the Xbox is sending to the TV?

The manual doesn’t answer this question, just says plug it in. Also, checked LG site, but found now real answer to this.
I am using the Xbox as an example. I have 4 components connected by HDMI to the TV. All of them have digtal optical too. Of course the receiver only has one optical input.

I just got a Vivitar DVR 850w. It’s supposed to be able to work as a webcam, but I cannot get it to work. I have uploaded all the driver that came with it. Does anyone know how I can get it to work as a webcam?
