Are Digital Scales Reliable?
Posted on Sep 23, 2009 under Digital news and reports |I’m 5′5 and a size 6 (can fit into a 4). But my digital scale still says I weigh 142 Ibs. Now, I used to have a regular scale, but I dropped it and it broke. So I bought a digital scale from Walgreen’s. I walk every morning for at least 30 mins and run the last lap. I work with kids, so I’m active all day. Should I ditch this scale and get a regular one?

if you goto the doctors and get weighed or at some big boots they have healthy weight machienes that say how much you weigh then if its the same then your scales are fine and if its different it’s your scales so get some new ones / second hand one’s

Doctors scales are the most accurate, followed by digital scales, then the regular dial kind. However all scales (unless broken) are usually not that far off. Maybe 10lbs tops. Supposedly digital tend to be very close to doctors though, in fact doctors recomend digital scales to people trying to maintain, gain, or just moniter their weight. As for ditching the scale for another? I say ditch scales in general. I know weight matters a lot, but if you are a size 4 or a 6 I see no problem. Perhaps you are just very muscular? Most health websites suggest keeping tracl of measurements and not weight, so perhaps investing in a fabric tape to take your measurements is a good idea… Though as a size 4 to 6 it`s safe to say you are in very good shape. You can try other scales though if it really bothers you. Good luck!
