I have a PowerShot A1000IS Canon Digital camera?
Posted on Oct 20, 2009 under Digital news and reports |which doesnt have insurance or guarantee, i accidentally dropped it on the floor and now when i press the "On" button, the lens doesn’t open and the screen doesn’t turn on either… I don’t know what to do? does anyone know of somebody that could help me fix it? i can’t take it back to Best Buy which is where my father bought it for me at, because of the guarantee issue.
This is a $250 digital camera that ive only had for a couple of months, Can anyone HELP! PLEASE!!

It is a good camera but it is broken if you drop it on the floor or road easily. The body is engineering plastic and inside is also with molded plastics. So insurance is very important for the point and shoot cameras. I recommend you to bring the camera to Best Buy or you should call Canon America incorporated and speak with sales. As far as I know, the repairing fee is very expensive and getting new one is cheaper. Labor fees are expensive for cameras. I do know the current point and shoot cameras are complicated inside. Unfutunately I do not think that I would give you good advice for the repair.
