Digital Camera malfunctioning?

Posted on Oct 21, 2009 under Digital news and reports |

Well my digital camera randomly shut off when I was taking a picture yesterday, and well every time I turn it on the lens randomly goes back inside and it turns off. Each time it does this. It does not say it needs new batteries–and I know for a fact it doesn’t because I put new batteries in like 1-2 days ago. Whats going on??
It is a Nikon Coolpix and I’ve had it for a little over a year.

  1. Are you turning off the camera after each time you take a shot?

The batteries in digital cameras are rated by how many photos can be taken using a fully charged battery. Leaving them turned on for hours at a time can make it seem that they don’t last long.

If in doubt, call Nikon 800.NIKON-UX

  2. Here’s another thought. At times these devices can become "confused" and need a re-boot.

To do this simply remove the batteries for a time, say 15 minutes.
After re-loading the batteries try it again.

If the problem persists seek either Nikon’s or professional help.
