Posted on Oct 14, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 16 Comments

i’m thinking about purchasing a Hasselblad 500 elm, and wanted to know if they take Digital backs, and if so would it really be worth using that sort of equipment on a 500 elm?

any answers would be greatly appreciated;)
hey thanks for the advice, it’s really helpful, I’ve already purchased the camera with accessories at what i think is a pretty great price, ($515AU) digital back or not, it’s still a great piece of equipment to have at hand. thanks again!

Digital Cameras: Do most people use the LCD or the viewfinder to aim the camera?

Posted on Oct 14, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 31 Comments

I’m buying a camera for my wife and have found a highly rated camera for a kow price (Kodak C180). I just noticed, to my surprise, that it has no viewfinder.

I’ve had a digital camera for several year and almost always use the viewfinder because, well, it just feels right. But maybe it’s just because I’ve been using cameras for 30 years and they have always had viewfinders (till now).

Also, with my digital camera, I can’t really see the LCD screen when out in the sun. Are the LCDs brighter nowadays?

I’m just wondering if my wife will like this camera or not. She’s never owned a camera.

issues with my 1T western digital hard drive?

Posted on Oct 14, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 21 Comments

Hi all,

Ive just bought 3 new western digital external hard drives and tried them all in my Dell Windows Vista laptop and am not getting any of them appearing anywhere. I figure, all three cant be duds, so something must be going on with my comp. I went onto the western digital website and that was no help, and i also checked out a few discussion forums and the answers tehre didnt help me either. Basically. I plugged the hard drive in, and the power obviously, and nothing happens at all. I cant find it in my computer and am lost.

Im about to go insane and any help anyone can give would be awesome.

Thanks all :)
