Not sure about plugs in france? (regarding digital picture frame)?
Posted on Nov 03, 2009 under Digital news and reports |Alright so my boyfriend lives in France and for christmas i want to get him some sort of digital picture frame however i believe most of those must be plugged into the wall? im not sure. Anyways, since they have different plugs there i was wondering if theres a site (in english) with digital picture frames that work with french plugs OR if there are some that opperate on battery?

I have not seen digital picture frames which operate on battery only. I don’t think batteries provide sufficient power for this type of display.
You could send him any digital picture frame you like as long as the transformer operates on 220VAC and either send him a plug adapter or ask him to obtain one at either BHV, FNAC, or Darty.
You could probably purchase a digital picture from any of the above stores but I do not think their website are available in English.

I can add two things:
1. You will almost always ultimately pay less when you buy the same item in dollars compared to euros or pounds.
2. If a US bought electronic item states the following on the little plate that lists the input power requirements…
Input: 100-240v 50/60Hz -or- input: 110-240v ~50/60Hz
you can simply plug its US plug into a european converter and it will work fine in France. *Most* electronics nowadays take either US or european current.
see the following for pictures of the converters — http://www.8starshop.com/images/products_images/unfurl/wnbb46162.jpg -or- http://www.boutique-revendeur.fr/images/Image/40/405101.jpg
Some people think the aesthetics of an electronic device is spoilt by having to convert the plug. You have to decide for yourself if your b/f will be bothered by this.
