Digital camera won’t work when it is plugged into computer.?
Posted on Nov 27, 2009 under Digital news and reports |The camera worked the other day when I plugged it into the back of computer. All the prompts came up and I was able to retrieve the pictures. Now when I plug it in the red light comes on on the camera but not the blue. Which the blue should be on when it is trying to download the pictures.
It is an Argus 5 mega pixel(DC 5185).
Any help would be appreciated.
The camera can be turned on and it takes pictures so I know the batteries aren’t the problem.
Ok I changed the batteries and still have the same problem. I tried other USB ports and no luck. The only thig I noticed today was when I plugged the camera into the computer and the bottom left of the computer screen it said no hardware found. It wasn’t like this last week. What do I need to do to get the hardware back on. I didn’t need to install anything when I first used the camera on the computer to get the pictures off. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I’m sorry I meant in the right hand corner of the screen. Where the icons are at.
Apparently is seems to be a USB port problem. For some reason it isn’t reading the software. Help

check things like the batteries and that you have enough power to run the camera also check it is switched on
it might be that you need to tell the computer to read the card contents
if not it could be that there is a problem with the camera

Try plugging the camera into a different USB port.
And like others have said, try new batteries (just in case)
