What do you think would be a good quality photography camera that’s under $400. I have no problem buying a used camera.
would a canon 1000d rebel xs be a nice camera for starters?

I’m taking photography 101 at college, and for our next assignment we have to shoot pictures with different depths of field. People (like me) with digital cameras that aren’t SLR are being told to use portrait mode for larger aperture (less DOF) and landscape mode for smaller aperture (more DOF). I obviously can’t find anything on my camera that will let me control aperture, but when I take a picture I do see an f-stop number on the LCD viewfinder screen, and that number doesn’t seem to change much whether I focus on a subject in portrait mode or landscape mode.
How can I get more control over my aperture?

Hi! I just recently bought an Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 camera and my daughter got to it and messed around. Somehow some of the pictures were locked and now it will not let me delete them. I know I need to unlock them to delete them but I can not figure it out for the life of it?!? I looked through the options and deleting options. I also looked in the instruction manual and can not find anything on it. I even searched online! Please help me ASAP because I am selling this camera and need to delete all pictures so I need to give the memory card with it. Thanks!

I have Nikon coolpix L1 camera. Kingston 1 GB memory card works with the camera with out issues. I bough a new card to update the memory. Transcend 8 GB memory card is not recognized by camera. With tha new card, even no buttons of camera works.

I’m looking for a good portable digital camera/camcorder to capture all life’s moments on the go. I also want to be able to hook it up to my laptop and edit footage. Know of any good brands/models or if this is even possible?
I don’t have a budget. I am using the video to critique my "dance" perfomances. Watching the playback will allow me to improve and check posture.
If it is necessary to buy two seperate units (a camcorder and digital camera) I’m willing to do that as well. However, if I could get a all in one deal that’s the option I’d go with. Thank you all. Keep the answers coming.
