How much does it Cost to Ship a Digital Camera from US to Philippines?
Posted on Dec 02, 2009 under Digital news and reports |hi my sis is going to send a DSLR camera via UPS in 1week Plus Insurance..she told me it costs $100 to ship?and 200 something for the Insurance. the Camera costs $700 and the package can weigh anywhere in between 3-4 Pounds?

1. US Postal Office
2. FEDEX
3. UPS
4. DHL
5. LBC
#2-5 are private couriers

You need to add in customs duty. It is normally 100 percent. On some items it is higher. If you have the camera insured for $ 700.00 the customs duty is $ 700.00. The duty must be paid before the camera can be picked up. The pickup spot in the Visayas region, is Cebu.
Expensive items shipped via regular mail will normally not make it to final destination.
I was going to ship a package of five pounds via Fed Ex from the USA to the Philippines and it was $ 200.00. I decided not to ship it.
It takes about a week to ship depending on where in the country it is going.
I would recommend sending cash and buy the camera in Manila.
