My uncle got a HDTV 720p and gets HD channels but my HDTV will not search for Digital channels with HD why?
Posted on Dec 02, 2009 under Digital news and reports |My Tv is 2 years old, its HD 720p and when we had the switch to analog to digital i thought i could get channel 2 4 and 11 in HD but my tv will not search for digital channels but my uncles new tv does. He gets channel 2 in HD
I dont understand my tv is capable of HD why will it not search for those digital channels?

Unless you have a digital (ATSC) tuner in your TV you’re stuck with only analog signals from the NTSC tuner. SD or HD is the ‘definition’ or clarity of the TV picture, ‘digital’ is the type of signal the TV captures with the ATSC tuner. The signal also has to be an HD signal; not all shows are broadcast in HD even though they are digital.
