A new digital camera?
Posted on Dec 04, 2009 under Digital news and reports |So I’m going to be getting a new digital camera soon, but I’m not sure how to pick one out. I want one that’s at a pretty reasonable price and not too big. I’m starting to get a LITTLE into photography, so I want a good quality camera. Haha, I pretty much want a camera that takes pretty pictures. So if you could help with any suggestion, then that’d be great. Thank you [:

Check out http://www.qvc.com. They have great cameras, a lot reasonably priced and are having specials on a lot of them. You can do a comparison between the different cameras too. Also, call their customer service department - they can’t tell you what to buy but can answer your questions.
Good luck - bought several cameras from them and they never failed me.

The right questions to ask is to resolve a conflict, "What I can afford ?" v/s "What I desire ?". Are you interested in Compact Digital camera that is easy to carry or a Digital SLR that shoots good picture but requires effort to carry.
These features will help you make a decision
1. Good optical zoom : Better the zoom, better the picture
2. Digital Zoom - Not at all important. It makes the picture blurred
3. Features like portrait, landscape, cloudy etc. More of them, you have better options
4. Compact cameras v/s SLRs. Compact is light in weight and easy to carry. Good for family and casual photos. Digital SLRs are little bit bulky but fun to use.
5. Mega Pixel: 6 mega pixel is good enough for family photography. But if you are looking for a poster then you will need more pixels.
6. Lens. Digital SLRs come with with 18-55mm VR Lens as standard which is good for taking pictures within 8 to 10 feet. 70-300mm, f4-5.6 DI lens are required to take good pictures of landscape and worth investing in it.
