SiMPLEFliX Digital Video Camera or slicK SiMPLE FliX from Dollar General with 1GB SD card Questions…?
Posted on Dec 04, 2009 under Digital news and reports |I know it is not going to be a quality video recorder, however, has anyone purchased one, checked it out and used it? I am wondering if for a 13 year old boy, would this be a cool gift to tape quick skateboard tricks, go card tricks, and short videos, just boys messin around? I would love to hear from someone who has used it, and how long do the batteries last as well as how many minutes the 1GB SD card will hold of video.

YESSSSS…IT is one of the best pieces of electronic equipment ive bought alll those video cameras are like 2 - 500 dollars and its a wasted of your money. I am 20 yrs old and bought and used this camera thousands of times and it hasnt failed me yet and i use it for exactly that skateboarding movies with my buddys and jus random fun stuff.. it would be the perfect gift for a 13 yr old he would be tha ish! if u kno wut i mean and it has great features like quick youtube upload quick and easy upload in general. user friendly comes with memory card tripod case and omg it is wonderful it can also be a webcam and digital camera and fits in your pocket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I deffffinitely reccomend it he will love it love itlove it!!! trust me I doooo!! oh and you can make killer sweet movies with windows movie maker to excellent!!!

takes very dark video in dim light…batteries last a few hours depending on type and brand of battery…works good for outdoor, day time use…think it would be ok for a 13 year old…if it gets broke then your not out alot of money.
gets about 18 min record time of high quality vid on 1gig sd card
upto 120min record on worst vid quality setting

sorry but I dissagree, I just got mine this past weekend, and it totaly SUCKS!!! the sound ya can’t even hear it unless you have your ear plastered to the front of the camera, and the pictures it takes are very dark so is the videos, I’m takin mine back, gonna get a better quality one,but if a boy don’t care about sound too much, then for the money, well ya can’t beat the price when he opens it up, he’ll think WOW !! someone really loves me to buy me a great gift like this :))

I bought my simpleflix about a month ago from dollar general for $35. for the price, I like it.
The video is not first rate but works well. the main weakness for me is the zoom. It gets very fuzzy as you zoom in. In general I will be using this unit while hiking next year as it is very light weight.
It should be neat for a teenager or a 53 year old like myself.
